Pixel Project were approached by to create an installation for the Nelson Mandela Foundation. The Foundation required an interactive tool to appeal to the younger visitors to the centre, to engage with and educate them about our former president, Nelson Mandela. The brief was to create an interactive and entertaining experience for the touchscreen which was to be installed in their permanent exhibition space in the foundation’s building.
Working closely with the archivist and writer from the foundation, Pixel Project conceptualised a series of fun quizzes and activities for the visitors to engage with. It was imperative that whatever was developed, stayed true to Madiba's legacy, so great care and sensitivity was taking in creating the content and design for the project. Four interactive games were developed: a general knowledge quiz, a quiz pertaining to Madiba’s legacy, an interactive calendar and a small archive of his speeches. All the content is handled externally and it’s easy to add or change content and imagery if needed.
